KUCHING, Nov 26:  Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) has lodged a police report against a suspected extortion case involving RM500.

Its president Lina Soo said on Nov 19, while party member Winnie Chu and her were at the Petanak Market, Chu was approached by a man at about 6pm, who asked her who would be the party’s candidate for Padungan.

“She (Chua) said Lina Soo. Then the man said he wanted to collect RM500 from me and he left.

“This is the first time I ever experienced such a thing. I have already contested three times, one as an independent candidate and twice representing Star (State Reform Party).

“It was quite surprising but so far, my comrades have not experienced the same thing. For safety reasons, I made this police report, ” said Soo when met at Paduangan police station today after the police report was lodged.

With Soo at the police station were Chua, Aspirasi’s candidate for Batu Lintang Alex Leong, Pending candidate Chan Chee Hiong and Kota Sentosa candidate for Tan Kok Chiang. — DayakDaily
