KUCHING, July 24: The Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) service is scheduled to undergo operational testing in Kota Samarahan as part of the implementation of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Project.
This was announced during a visit by the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) to Sarawak Metro for a briefing and engagement session on the latest status of the project, as reported by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).
In addition to updates on the construction of the ART system, Sarawak Metro also presented the progress of the Rembus Station, which is located within the administrative area of Kota Samarahan.
The ART operational testing, to be carried out at a later stage, aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the route, the performance of the system, and its level of integration with the public transport network.
During the session, MPKS also urged that proactive measures continue to be taken to minimise traffic disruptions throughout the construction period and to ensure that the safety and comfort of road users remain a priority.
Both parties also agreed to continue their cooperation to ensure the smooth implementation of the KUTS Project in Kota Samarahan. — DayakDaily
