MIRI,Oct 25: A woman was allegedly forced into a car by unknown men after a brawl erupted in the street along Jalan Cina here which left the victim’s male friend unconscious on Thursday (Oct 24) night.
According to sources, in the incident that occurred around 7pm, the female victim together with a male friend and another female friend had gone to the area to meet with a group of men to discuss about a cash loan matter.
However, things did not go well as planned and a squabble ensued that ended in a fight between the three and at least 10 men.
According to a police report lodged the same night by the male victim, he was hit multiple times by the group of men using blunt objects.
It was also alleged that the suspects had forced the woman into a car and sped off, leaving the two victims behind at the scene.
Acting on the report, a team from Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested five men in connection with the incident, barely two hours after the attack.
They were picked up in Lutong to assist in police investigation on the case.— DayakDaily
