KUCHING, Oct 25: Twinswood Sdn Bhd lost its appeal today to set aside a High Court decision, which ruled that the three shophouse units in Kampung Dato belongs to the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP).

The Court of Appeal three-men panel led by Datuk Zaleha Yusof, who presided with Datuk Rhodzariah Bujang and Datuk Hanipah Farikullah, unanimously dismissed Twinswood’s appeal.

On Dec 6, 2017, the Sibu High Court ruled that the three shophouse units in Kampung Dato are meant for the use of SUPP indefinitely.

The said three shophouse units in Kampung Dato, titled as lots number 1291, 1292 and 1293, had been registered under Twinswood Sdn Bhd with 50 shareholders since 1988, who were previously SUPP members.

The ownership dispute is between Twinswood Sdn Bhd and SUPP, represented by its president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew and vice-president Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing.

SUPP filed a suit to claim the said property from Twinswood on June 2, 2015. — DayakDaily
