KUCHING, Nov 24: Four Indonesian illegal immigrants (PATI) hoping to seek employment in Kuching ended with them being chased away by the army (TDM).

First Division Infantry Malaysia in a statement today said the four attempted to enter the state through ‘jalan tikus’ in Tebedu last night.

“They were caught at 9.35pm by our army personnel who were patrolling the area. During interrogation, all of them from Entikong, Indonesia said they intend to look for a job in Kuching. They were ordered to return to their country.

“In the past two weeks, TDM has successfully foiled two attempts by eight illegal immigrants for trying to enter the state illegally through ‘jalan tikus’ along the Tebedu-Kalimantan West border,” the statement said.

The immigrants will make their attempts usually in the night or early morning. — DayakDaily
