KUCHING, Feb 8: Areas under the jurisdiction of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) are now recognised as Sarawak Delta Geoparks.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Feb 7), with the recognition, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg called on Sarawakians, especially those living in DBKU areas, to continue to keep the environment clean to preserve it alongside the rapid development implementation.

“DBKU areas are now recognised as a geopark, which is equivalent to the geoparks recognised of Langkawi and Perak,” he said during a dinner ceremony together with ‘Kejiranan Mesra’ (KJM) held at Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) building on Wednesday (Feb 7).
