KUCHING, May 20: The application for operating food stalls at the Kuching Festival Food Fair 2023 is now open, and interested individuals can obtain the necessary forms from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) headquarters.
The Kuching Festival Food Fair 2023 is set to return to the MBKS grounds from July 28 to Aug 20.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said preparations for the highly anticipated annual festival are underway, with sponsorships for prizes in the lucky draw programme coming in.
“We don’t want a ‘pasar malam’ (night market) setting for the festival, so we hope traders showcase their creativity in their food presentation and offerings.
“This is to ensure the festival can feature a diverse culinary experience that will reflect Kuching’s reputation as the City of Gastronomy,” he said during his ShallWeeTalk online session today.
For food stall application, three types of stalls are available: premium stall, single stall, and half stall. The application process began on May 15 and will conclude on May 31.
Additionally, for indoor trade and fun fair stalls, there are also three types of stalls available: double stall, drink stall, and indoor trade and fun fair. The deadline for applying for these stalls is May 29.
Wee also announced that Tay Motor would sponsor three units of motorcycles with an estimated value of over RM30,000, while another company will sponsor bicycles for the lucky draw.
He advised prospective food stall applicants not to wait until the last minute to submit their applications.
This is to allow sufficient time to address any potential problems or issues that traders and operators may encounter. — DayakDaily
