
KUCHING, Dec 10: Three men, aged between 22 and 25, were released after being remanded since their arrest on Dec 1 to assist in investigations into a murder case at an apartment in Jalan Sungai Tapang.
Magistrate Ling Hui Chuan ordered their release today, with each suspect bound by a RM15,000 bond under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The suspects were initially detained after police received a report of a fight at the apartment at around 4.40am on Dec 1.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department discovered the lifeless body of a 22-year-old man in one of the rooms upon arrival.
According to Padawan District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, the victim had multiple slash wounds, and paramedics confirmed his death at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Police are working to uncover the circumstances leading to the fatal altercation.
