SIBU, March 12: The number of business owners fined RM1,000 each for breaching Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) continued to increase.

On Thursday, five more were found by an Integrated standard operating procedures (SOP) monitoring team for not providing body temperature scanner, MySejahtera code, hand sanitiser and log book for customers to register their particulars before entering their premises.

The five include four women, aged between 36 to 40, and a man aged 25.

Sibu district police chief ACP  Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the 24-member team led by ASP Kushairy Bujang inspected a shopping mall at Jalan Pedada and bus terminal at Jalan Pahlawan from 11am to 3pm.

“Four shops in the shopping mall and a bus counter at the bus terminal were found without these essential items,” he said.

Their offences were under Regulation 17 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021. — DayakDaily
