Another feather in the cap for S’wkian prodigy Franklin Lingga Abun after being invited as speaker at AABC conference in Germany

Franklin has been invited to speak at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) in June 2023 in Mainz, Germany.

Kuching, Dec 28: Young prodigy Franklin Lingga Abun is has achieved another milestone for Malaysia, as he has been selected as one of the battery technologists to speak at Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) in June 2023 in Mainz, Germany.

“I am honoured to be selected as one of the speakers from many battery technologists and recognised at the largest battery conference in Europe and at the same time invited to present my work at the 13th edition of the Conference (AABC), ” the 24-year-old Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) graduate told DayakDaily.

“Being the first Malaysian to speak at AABC and representing a giant European automotive company, namely BMW, will certainly be a valuable experience in my career as a young scientist.


“It is also an opportunity to meet and share knowledge and opinions with many great technology experts in this industry,” he enthused.

Franklin Lingga Abun

Franklin, who graduated from Unimas as a battery technology engineer, said that he would reveal some technologies and private patents at the conference.

“Among them is the progress of one of the technology researches that I had proposed in 2018 in Steyr Austria when I was still 20-years-old and a third-year student at Unimas.

“Four years have passed now, and the technology research is in the mid-experiment phase and works well.

“In addition, I will present new findings linked to our catalyst that may be used practically based on employing a partial discharge profile to estimate full capacity without the requirement to fully charge/discharge the retired module,” he said.
