KUCHING, Aug 8: Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching, Kelvin Yii emphasises that giving is a value which everyone can and must practise.
Yii said this when representing the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs at the Red Christmas event held at tHe Spring Shopping Mall on Sunday night.
“This is a joyous event which everyone can celebrate together,” Yii said.
“I would like to thank Bata and others for sponsoring gifts and presents for this event,” he added.
Yii said that Christmas is a season for giving and this is something which is close to his heart.
“The value of giving is a thing which we can practise, not only during Christmas,” he said.
He added that people make a living by what they get, but they are made alive by what they can give to others.
Yii also advised those present to give to the younger generations so that people can live happily in the future.
Meanwhile, during the event, twenty children from the Salvation Army were presented with Christmas gifts.
