KUCHING, May 29: All recreational parks and open spaces under the jurisdiction of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will be closed starting today until June 11.
This is the latest notice by MBKS following the updated standard operating procedures (SOP) during the State’s Movement Control Order (MCO) released yesterday (May 28) that all indoor and outdoor sports, exercises and recreational activities are prohibited altogether.
“In compliance with the latest enforcement of the MCO and the SOP laid by the SDMC, all MBKS recreational parks and open spaces will be closed to the public starting Saturday, May 29 until June 11, 2021.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this matter,” it said in a statement today.
No jogging, cycling or outdoor activities are allowed during the current MCO.
Before today during the Conditional MCO (CMCO) in the whole of Sarawak, individual exercises such as jogging and running were allowed in parks.
Note that such activities including exercising in indoor, outdoor gyms or studios are all disallowed starting today. — DayakDaily
