KUCHING, Jan 9: “All health clinics in Kuching will be opened this weekend,” says State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

In one of his Facebook posts earlier today, he said all governmental health clinics will have their doors open from 8.00am until 12.00pm to accept walk-ins for the Covid-19 tests.

He added the Covid-19 rapid test polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) tests in these clinics will be free of charge.

The clinics included are the Jalan Masjid Health Clinic, Batu Kawa Health Clinic, Kota Sentosa Health Clinic, Tanah Puteh Health Clinic and Petra Jaya Health Clinic.

This decision was made after Sarawak records a shocking number of 55 new daily cases today.

Sibu has also been converted to a Covid-19 orange zone with only two local cases away from being a red zone, and a new Pasai Cluster declared with a total of 38 local cases, including 37 cases reported this morning.

In view of this dire situation in Sarawak, Dr Sim urged individuals who have had close contacts or visited any same places with Covid-19 positive cases to immediately visit the nearest clinics and get swabbed. — DayakDaily
