KUCHING, Feb 11: Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi is the new Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary-general, taking over from Minister of Utilities Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during his winding-up speech at the closing of the PBB convention at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here this evening.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, Alexander said he was most honoured to be appointed to hold one of the party’s most heavy and significant positions.
“This is going to be a big responsibility and I would need a little time to learn the ropes of this post. However I am sure that other senior members will be there to help me.
“I will do my utmost best to serve the party as well the people in my capacity not only as the party’s secretary-general but also as an elected representative,” he said.
Alexander is also the Member of Parliament for Kapit. — DayakDaily
