MIRI, Feb 18: Sarawak Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Tuesday has urged the management of Air Asia Berhad to consider reducing the amount charged for its wheelchair facility at airports.

Lee said that a lot of passengers were complaining about the rate, saying that it was much too expensive.

Currently, the charge per wheel chair is at RM120 for one way (on-the-spot booking) and RM60 for online booking.

“I’m suggesting that this rate be reduced to RM30 for online booking and RM60 for those booking on-the-spot,” Lee said.

He added that his ministry had submitted a letter to the AirAsia Bhd management on these issues, including matters pertaining to passengers requesting for aerobridges to be used at all airports in Sarawak.
