AirAsia adjusts operations following Mount Ruang eruption

KUCHING, April 19: Several AirAsia flights to and from East Malaysia have been affected due to the recent eruption of Mount Ruang in the Indonesian Sulawesi Islands.

Following this, AirAsia issued a statement today notifying all affected passengers to regularly check their emails and mobile phones for any cancellation notices and to check the latest flight status on the AirAsia website.


The list of affected AirAsia flights for today (April 19) is as follows:

In addition, the airline company also offered other options to the passengers whose flights were affected, which were to:

  • Change dates: change to a new travel date within 30 days from the original departure date on the same route at no additional cost. Subjected to seat availability.
  • Credit account: retain flight booking value in AirAsia Rewards member account for future travel. Valid for redemption within 730 days (2 years) from date of issuance.

Passengers who wish to make booking changes online may do so at their website or in their application, AirAsia MOVE.
