PUTRAJAYA, May 5: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has extended the Hari Raya Puasa Maximum Price Scheme 2022 (SHMMP-HRP 2022) from the original end date on May 6 to May 10.
KPDNHEP Enforcement Division director Azman Adam said price controls for chicken and chicken eggs will continue to be implemented until June 5 for the entire Malaysia.
“Since the implementation of SHMMP-HRP 2022 from April 26 to May 4, the ministry has inspected a total of 6,702 business premises at the wholesale and retail levels.
“Of these, a total of 10 cases were detected in violation of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
“The offenses detected involved failure to comply with price tag requirements and selling controlled items exceeding the maximum price,” he said in a statement today.
Azman warned that strict actions would be taken against those who fail to comply with the rules and regulations under the maximum price scheme.
