In a statement, Sarawak police commissioner Dato Mancha Ata said that the six-day operation aims to reduce road accidents in the State throughout the period, enforce traffic rules and laws, station officers at certain locations to ensure road users’ safety and comfort and prevent house break-ins.
“This operation will involve around 343 officers and personnel to ensure road users’ safety and that traffic flows smoothly,” he said.
He added that the operation would focus on 56 locations with frequent accidents and congestion, as well as within residential areas and public places.
“We would like to advise road users to adhere to the traffic laws and instructions from enforcing personnel, as strict action will be taken on those who break the law.” — DayakDaily
