KUCHING, Jan 26: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an advisory for adverse weather conditions in Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, and Belaga until 9pm today.
The advisory, issued at 6pm today said anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and strong wind.
According to the department, a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than one hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
