KUCHING, Dec 10: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in 10 districts throughout Sarawak until 9pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory notice issued at 5.20pm, the affected districts are Samarahan, Sarikei, Julau, Meradong, Sibu, Kapit, Song, Bukit Mabong, Bintulu, and Tatau.
The department said that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It also said a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
