Advanced works for ART depot in Rembus progressing steadily, says Sarawak Metro

KUCHING, March 3: The advanced works for Sarawak’s Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) depot in Rembus, which commenced in November 2022, is progressing steadily.

Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd said the 80-acre site in Kota Samarahan will house a stabling yard, hydrogen refuelling facilities, mechanical workshop, infrastructure workshop, administration and operation control centre.

“The Rembus Depot is scheduled to begin operation in the fourth quarter of 2025.


“Other facilities near the ART Depot will include Sarawak Metro’s hydrogen feeder bus depot and SEDC’s (Sarawak Economic Development Corporation) hydrogen production plant,” it said on social media today.
