Accounting assistant claims trial to CBT charge

KUCHING, Aug 5: An accounting assistant has claimed trial to two charges of criminal breach of trust involving RM33,516.70 belonging to a koperasi.

Umi Atika Rahman, 30, pleaded not guilty to two charges framed under Section 408 of the Penal Code.


The Sessions Court Judge fixed Sept 5 for case management and allowed the accused to be released on RM10,000 bail.

Umi, employed as an accounting assistant of Koperasi Nilam Kuching Berhad, allegedly committed criminal breach of trust in respect to the collection of cash money amounting to RM33,516.70, at her office located in Sukma Commercial Centre, Jalan Sultan Tengah, on two occasions, which were July 2018 and September 2018.
