KUCHING, Aug 19: All quarters should accept the new Federal government led by a new prime minister once a successor to outgoing Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is decided, said Assistant Minister of Port Development Datuk Julaihi Narawi.
“Once the new prime minister and the Cabinet is finalised and appointed by the Agong, I hope all parties accept the appointment.
“There should be no more politicking as it will only destabilise the new government and the country.
“Just focus on the efforts to heal the country in all aspects,” he said when contacted today regarding the ongoing political crisis in Peninsular Malaysia.
The Sebuyau assemblyman also pointed out that whoever becomes the new prime minister, the interests of Sarawak must be protected and assured at all times as enshrined under the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63) when Sarawak agreed to form Malaysia.
He went on to say that efforts to achieve herd community from Covid-19 in the country must be prioritised via the nationwide vaccination programme.
“Prosperity and economic growth must be given priority as well because this is important in order to ensure the people have chances of employment, giving them a steady income to sustain and support their family’s needs.” — DayakDaily
