Abu Bengang Cluster, Ulu Senulau Cluster contribute to 164 Covid-19 cases in Saratok

KUCHING, July 22: Two clusters in Saratok named the Abu Bengang Cluster and Ulu Senulau Cluster with a combined total of 164 Covid-19 positive cases have pushed Saratok up to the number two spot of districts with the highest number of new cases today, after Kuching.

Both are longhouse clusters and both longhouses have already been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) whereby residents are not permitted to leave or enter the longhouses.


The Abu Bengang Cluster has so far registered 131 new Covid-19 positive cases out of the 193 who were swabbed. Another 46 tested negative while 16 are still awaiting their lab test results.

Meanwhile, the Ulu Senulau Cluster in Nanga Gong, Ulu Senulau saw 57 individuals undergoing swab tests, with 33 testing positive for Covid-19 and 18 testing negative, while the remaining six individuals are still awaiting their test outcome.

Currently, there are 94 clusters that are still active in Sarawak with 12 of them reporting 288 news cases today while the remaining 82 clusters did not report any new cases. — DayakDaily
