“SMA will continue to commit to completing the Internet network in Sarawak so that every member of society can enjoy it,” he said.

He disclosed this to Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee during the latter’s courtesy visit to his office today.

Meanwhile, Iskandar expressed optimism that the community in his constituency is not lagging in the development of the digital economy, which is the goal of Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He hoped that the Internet access which is an initiative by the Sarawak government through SMA would bridge the gap between people in rural and urban areas.

“We will try to raise rural children with knowledge so that they do not fall behind and hope they also have various channels to get information for educational purposes.

“For rural communities, the existence of Internet access allows them to, for example, market their products effectively through digital marketing,” he explained.

“I commended SMA’s various initiatives and approach in trying to connect communities in the area’s interior with an Internet network, especially in my Jepak State constituency, so that the Sarawak Premier’s goal towards a digital economy could be achieved,” he said. — DayakDaily
