KUCHING, Oct 3: The beauty queen of the 25th Miss Tourism International World Final will become the ambassador to promote Sarawak internationally, says Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Abdul Karim said the very first Miss Tourism International was held here in Sarawak 25 years ago and after that, Sarawak has not had the opportunity to organise it.

“After 25 years, we are very proud to see the event coming back and of course, I could not say no to something like this which could bring Sarawak to the world.

“Where can we get so many beauty queens from all over the world coming into Sarawak and each one of them will be an ambassador for us,” he said in a press conference held after chairing 25th Miss Tourism International World Final meeting held at a local hotel, here today.

Earlier, Abdul Karim also witnessed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the organiser and sponsors of the event.

The Grand Finale of Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 will be held at Raia Hotel and Convention Center Kuching at 7pm on Nov 25.

Participants from 60 countries are expected to arrive in Kuching before Nov 11 and will take part in a series of promotional activities scheduled. – DayakDaily
