KUCHING, Dec 31: Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is looking forward to helming the two ministries allotted to him, namely the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and Ministry of Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development.
The two ministries were renamed from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Ministry of Youth and Sports, which were previously held by him too.
He said he was very honored to helm the two ministries again as he described it as an opportunity for his team to continue and catch up with where they left off especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I do have plans (for the ministries). I can see that the portfolios that I am looking after are still the same except for a new one – Entrepreneur Development.
“I will need to see what are the areas inside this portfolio first. However, it should not be a problem. I am looking forward to it. I love all these challenges,” he told the press after attending Sarawak’s Diva Duo Dewi & Jolynn in Concert organised by Front Row held at Old Courthouse Auditorium last night (Dec 30).
The new Sarawak Cabinet lineup was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on the same day comprising a mixture of experienced and new faces and professionals well represented throughout the State.
Abdul Karim said with the formation of the new Cabinet lineup, every members will have to come up with what they have in plan within their first 100 days in office.
“The members of the public will judge you, the Chief Minister will judge you. I do hope each and everyone of them will perform their best for the State of Sarawak,” he emphasised. — DayakDaily
