KUCHING, Dec 28: Give Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg some space to select his Cabinet and do not attempt to lobby, says Asajaya assemblyman Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He said the formation of the State Cabinet is the prerogative of the chief minister.

“Even though I may not be placed in any ministry and will just be an ordinary member of State Legislative Assembly (DUN), it’s alright with me too.

“We have to give the chief minister the full say to decide. There should not be any lobbying,” he told the press after officiating at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Sarawak (MYSS) Appreciation Nite 2021 held at a local hotel in Kuching earlier tonight.

Abang Johari was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Sarawak on Dec 18, 2021 after Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) achieved a landslide victory in the recently concluded 12th Sarawak Election.

Although GPS was returned to power as the State government, Abang Johari has yet to announce his State Cabinet lineup. — DayakDaily
