KUCHING, Aug 14: Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah believes that the 15th General Election (GE15) will be held in either October or November this year.

“I dare to say that the (15th) general election will be held very soon. We are in August now. Maybe in another two or three months, people will have to vote again,” he said.

In the coming GE15, he expressed hope that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates will garner the same support from Sarawakians as in the last State election.

He said Sarawakians should only support a political party close to the hearts of Sarawak and born in Sarawak.

Other than GPS, he said, he could not name another coalition that is worthy of the support of Sarawakians.

“(It will be best) if we can show Kuala Lumpur that Sarawakians are united behind GPS. Of course, I hope that GPS can win all 31 parliamentary seats.

“I’m sure, if we work hard, we can,” he said when officiating at the 2022 Daro Festival today.

Among those also present were Chief Political Secretary to Premier Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi, Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad, and Mukah Resident Kueh Lei Poh. — DayakDaily
