KUCHING, March 9: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has tested positive for Covid-19 as confirmed by a positive test result on Monday (March 7).

Abdul Karim had felt unwell and experienced symptoms of the common flu including a sore throat.

The Asajaya elected representative is currently undergoing home quarantine for five days as per safety protocols issued by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to prevent inadvertently spreading the virus to others.

Meanwhile, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman is still recovering after he tested positive for Covid-19 last Thursday (March 3).

In a post on his social media page on March 6, he shared that he experienced mild symptoms including fever, headache, sore throat and flu on the day “two blue lines appeared” on the rapid antigen test-kit.

Fazzrudin then underwent home quarantine. His symptoms has lasted for several days while he continued to update his condition via the MySejahtera app.

“Today (March 9) is my last day of quarantine and I am much better already,” he told DayakDaily when contacted today.

Fazzrudin also reminded the public to continue to be vigilant and take additional precautions to stay safe as this is a reminder of how prevalent Covid-19 is in the community.

“But if infected, don’t panic and just follow the SOP (standard operating procedures) as issued by MOH,” he said. — DayakDaily
