KUCHING, Jan 15: Three of the four suspects nabbed by police in connection with the abduction of a businessman here on Jan 12 have been remanded to facilitate the investigation.
Another suspect is still at large.
The first suspect, 26, was caught on Jan 13. He will be remanded until Jan 19.
An application to remand the second suspect, a female, was dismissed by Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar today. The 23-year-old suspect was caught on Jan 14 at about 9.30am on the roadside of Jalan Lorong Setia Raja 12A3.
The third suspect, aged 36, and the fourth suspect, aged 27, were caught on Jan 14 at about 11am at a hotel at Jalan Lapangan Terbang. They will be remanded until Jan 18.
The abduction of the 37-year-old businessman happened at about 10.40pm on Jan 12 in Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli, in front of the victim’s place of work. His white Lexus Harrier had also gone missing.
Meanwhile, a body, believed to be that of the victim, was found today at an abandoned house in Jalan Dusun here.
The case is being investigated under Section 364 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
