KUCHING, August 4: State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion describes Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s passion to improve the livelihood of Sarawakians as his “Labour of Love”.

He said besides being a visionary leader, Abang Johari listens and cares about the welfare of the people.

“He is a dedicated leader through his ‘Labour of Love’ approach.

“Besides that, he is a visionary leader and he really cares about the welfare of the rakyat. This is proven with his many initiatives which he has implemented in the last three years in office.

“During the Movement Control Order (MCO) triggered by Covid-19 pandemic, he came up with financial assistance in the tune of billions of ringgit to lessen the burden of the rakyat whose incomes have been adversely affected by the deadly disease,” Jaul told DayakDaily in conjunction with Abang Johari’s 70th birthday today.

Jaul added that, being a visionary leader, Abang Johari was also firm with his belief in Sarawak’s rights as enshrined under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“This is what we have seen so far and his hard work has now been recognised by Petronas and the Federal government on the issue of the State Sales Tax,” he said.

On personal basis, Jaul described Abang Johari as an accommodative and approachable person who listens to suggestions.

“But of course, at the same time, he has his own stand and he has always been unwatered in his commitment to make the rakyat’s lives better,” he said. —DayakDaily.
