Abang Johari leads delegation on a 2-day working visit to Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept 19: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had an audience with the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, at Istana Nurul Iman today.

This was part of his two-day working visit to Brunei.

The chief minister had a half-an-hour discussion with the monarch, who is also the prime minister of Brunei.


Accompanying Abang Johari were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, State Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani and Deputy State Secretary Datu Abu Bakar Marzuki.

Earlier this morning, Abang Johari led the Sarawak delegation in a bilateral meeting with the Brunei authorities at a hotel in Jerudong here. The meeting was chaired by Dato Seri Setia Awang Ali Apong, Brunei’s Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.

The chief minister’s wife, Datin Patinggi Dato Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, accompanied by Uggah’s wife, Datin Amar Doreen Mayang, and Deputy State Secretary Datu Sabariah Putit had a separate audience with the Sultan’s consort Pengiran Saleha at the Istana. — DayakDaily
