Abang Johari has mild symptoms, undergoing home quarantine for 5 days

KUCHING, March 8: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had experienced mild symptoms after getting infected with Covid-19.

The Office of the Premier of Sarawak issued a statement confirming that Abang Johari has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is currently undergoing home quarantine for five days.

“The Premier has tested positive of Covid-19 with mild symptoms since yesterday and he is currently undergoing home quarantine for five days.


“The Premier wishes to thank all the people who have shown their concern for his health and safety,” said the statement read.

The confirmation came after Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah in her speech, revealed that Abang Johari was not able to join in the Sarawak Women’s Day 2022 celebration held in Miri this morning.

Abang Johari was supposed to officiate at the function but had to turn it down at the last minute last night after he tested positive. — DayakDaily
