KUCHING, Jan 25: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will launch the eighth Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid (BKSS 8.0) worth RM285.47 million soon.
Speaking at the Sarawak Civil Service Day 2022 held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today, the chief minister said the special aid will cover the first six months this year.
“This (BKSS) is one of the largest aid rates by a State government in the country; and this does not include a special allocation of more than RM91 million to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to cover the cost of tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in the State,” he said.
In order to reduce the impact of Covid-19, the Sarawak government has implemented seven BKSS packages for the people involving an expenditure of RM5.3 billion. — DayakDaily
