SIBU, Nov 16: Another three projects have been approved by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for P211 Lanang, says Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for the seat, Wong Ching Yong.

Speaking at a press conference today, Wongg said these projects include the upgrading of Jalan Pulau Dudong (RM2 million), the upgrading of 15 national primary schools (RM15 million) and the construction of Bukit Tunggal transit station (RM15.6 million).

Earlier, Wong said the Premier had given the nod for the construction of an aquatic centre in Sibujaya costing RM50 million.

“There was no conditions set when he (Premier) approved these project or else we would be holding the people at ransom,” he said when asked whether there was any condition for their approval.

Wong however believed that if he wins in the election, these projects could be implemented faster.

“If I win, they might be implemented faster. If I lose, the projects will still be implemented,” he added.

Wong is in a four-cornered fight for the seat which includes incumbent Alice Lau (DAP), Priscilla Lau (Parti Bumi Kenyalang) and an independent Datuk Wong Tiing Kiong. — DayakDaily
