KUCHING, Nov 20: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has announced a Special Financial Aid, or Bantuan Khas Kewangan (BKK), equivalent to two months’ salary for all civil servants in Sarawak.
He made the announcement during his ministerial winding-up speech at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting today.
“As a token of appreciation for the contributions and commitment of Sarawak Civil Service members, I am pleased to announce Bantuan Khas Kewangan (BKK) equivalent to two months’ basic salary, based on the latest basic salary of November 2024.
“This assistance will be disbursed in December 2024,” he said.
Abang Johari, who is also the Minister for Finance and New Economy and Gedong assemblyman (GPS-PBB), further extended his gratitude to members of the Federal Civil Service serving in Sarawak.
“To honor their dedication and service, I am pleased to announce a one-off Special Financial Aid of RM700 per person, which will be paid in the first quarter of 2025,” he added.
The total financial implication for both incentives is estimated at RM190 million. — DayakDaily
