Abang Johari and most PBB top brass elected unopposed

KUCHING, June 18: Premier of Sarawak and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and virtually the entire top brass of the party were elected unopposed for the 2022-2025 term at the party’s election today.

Deputy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who are Deputy Premiers, were returned as deputy presidents.


For the senior vice president posts, Works Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof was retained while Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom was elected following the retirement of Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong.

For the nine vice president posts, they are Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Dr Annuar Rapaee, Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu, Dato Gerawat Gala and Miro Simuh.

For the party’s Youth wing with its leader as Miro, Allan Siden Gramong and Lukanisman Awang Sauni were elected deputy chiefs, while Malcolm Layang Jimbun, Roystan Valentine and Anderson Kalang Lah the vice chiefs.

The Women wing saw its leadership post held by Fatimah, with Datin Sri Angelina Ujang and Dato Sri Rohani Abdul Karim as deputy chiefs and Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, Umang Nangku Jabu and Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali as vice chiefs.

Some 2,420 delegates took part in the four-day 15th PBB Convention starting on June 16 which was officiated by Abang Johari at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today. — DayakDaily
