KUCHING, July 7: The new Sarawak Health Deparment director Datuk Dr Mohamed Sapian paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia this morning.
Dr Mohamed from Terengganu who was appointed on June 14, replaced Dr Chin Zin Hing who retired on May 21.
Previously, Dr Mohamed was the deputy director of Public Health at the Pahang Health Department since 2018.
As an experienced public health medical consultant, he had served as a health officer at Bintulu Division, Semporna, Bera, Rompin and Kuantan districts before.
He was also elected as the Jengka Hospital director and Pahang Health Department Vector-Borne Diseases Control Unit senior assistant director.
State Health deputy director for Public Health Dr Rosemawati Ariffin was also present.
After that, Abang Johari also received a courtesy visit from the new Yayasan Sarawak director Mersal Abang Rosli who assumed the role on July 1. — DayakDaily
