KUCHING, Nov 11: A vote for Democratic Action Party (DAP) is a vote for Malaya and to take care of its interests, says Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) P196 Stampin candidate Lo Khere Chiang.

Raising this, he stressed that it is time to change the member of Parliament (MP) for Stampin currently held by the Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Chong Chieng Jen by sending him (Lo) straight to Parliament to fight for Sarawak.

He also asked people to see and judge for themselves what Chong has done for Sarawak in all his years in Parliament.

“Sarawakians are not fools. So Chong should stop causing discord among people and stop the hypocrisy of misleading the people of Sarawak. Enough; three terms already. Change the MP and give it to me.

“Furthermore, Sarawak only has 31 parliamentary seats and combined with 25 from Sabah; there are only 56 seats. With only 31 seats, why should we give more seats to DAP when there is already enough DAP representation in Parliament?

“Give it to me. Send me to Parliament, and I will show you what a true Sarawakian parliamentarian should do in protecting and demanding Sarawak’s rights and in taking care of Sarawak, not helping DAP to take care of Peninsular Malaysia, not cutting funding, and not helping national DAP to bully Sarawak,” he said in a press conference at his Batu Kitang service centre in Mile 6 today.

With that, Lo, who is also Batu Kitang assemblyman, urged voters to send all 31 GPS candidates to Parliament to safeguard and demand Sarawak’s rights enshrined under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and Inter-Governmental Committee (IGC) Report to be reinstated and restored.

He said that protecting and demanding Sarawak’s rights be returned is part of his manifesto, as he is committed to ensuring that their Malayan counterparts honour, respect, and return the rights and entitlements to Sarawak.

“I want to go into Parliament to protect MA63 and IGC. I insist that Malaya gives us back what is due to us under the law, as MA63 and IGC have been recognised in the Constitution. If people are not happy, we go to court.

“I also want autonomy on health and education to be given to Sarawak. I don’t want to be like DAP; just talk big. GPS will not talk big and make promises they cannot deliver or fulfil,” he added. ā€” DayakDaily
