KUCHING, July 29: Sarawak’s ruling coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) calls on Sarawakians to pray for the existing political disability to end and also that the nation may be free from Covid-19.

In a four-paragraph statement released by GPS secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, GPS also voiced out its firm support for the existing system of Constitutional Monarchy.

No further explanation was given. Nanta continued to point out that in the face of a pandemic, political stability is crucial and essential.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister said focus should be placed on the successful implementation of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), a plan that has been laid out by the federal government to lead Malaysians out of the present economic fallout brought about by Covid-19.

“GPS fully supports the Constitutional Monarchy System.

“In a situation where the country is facing the Covid-19 pandemic crisis and trying to revive the country’s economy, political stability is essential.

“We need to focus on the success of the National Recovery Plan for the wellbeing and health of the people as well as economic recovery.

“Let us pray that the political crisis which has been plaguing the nation will end soon and pray that we may be free from the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Nanta who is also the Kapit MP. — DayakDaily
