Motorcyclist injured in accident near Kampung Muhibbah

KUCHING, Jan 29: A motorcyclist was badly injured after being involved in a road accident near an intersection at Jalan Kampung Muhibbah in Sri Aman, this afternoon.

According to Sri Aman fire station in a statement, they received the call regarding the incident at 12.38 pm, and a team of six firefighters led by PBK II Amie Anak Banseng rushed to the location.

“The victim, a 62-year old man, who was on his motorcycle, collided head-on with a sub-compact vehicle that was overtaking a sedan vehicle near the intersection causing the victim to suffer severe injuries, including a fractured right knee and cracked cheekbones.


“A team firefighters who were on their way back to the station after conducting a fire hydrant inspection also stopped to provide initial medical treatment to the victim, and at the same time contacting the Sri Aman fire station for the Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) assistance,” it said.

The statement noted both drivers of the sub-compact and sedan vehicles were unharmed in the incident.

The victim was later brought to Sri Aman hospital by an ambulance. –DayakDaily.
