98 underprivileged Asajaya residents receive house repair aid

ASAJAYA, March 10: A total of 98 residents in Asajaya received assistance amounted to RM999,500 by the state government under the Program Penambaikan Rumah Miskin Sarawak (PPRMS) recently.

According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) quoting Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the programme is divided into two phases whereby 68 houses will be repaired under the first phase and and 30 houses under the second phase.

Abdul Karim who is also the Asajaya assemblyman said the programme is an initiative by the Sarawak government to assist the underprivileged to own better homes.


“The state government is always looking for the best solution to channel assistance such as to assist the underprivileged to repair their houses and to reduce their financial burden,” he said while inspecting PPRMS repair work conducted at Kampung Sebandi Ulu here yesterday.

Meanwhile, programme beneficiary, Masni Mos, when interviewed said she was grateful and delighted that her residence will be repaired through the RM15,000 in financial aid which the state government has approved. — DayakDaily
