KUCHING, April 22: A 90-year-old woman from Kuching is the latest death due to Covid-19 reported today.
According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the victim had suffered from hypertension, diabetes and heart disease before passing at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) on April 21.
Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 142 new Covid-19 cases, out of which 49 are in Category 1, 91 in Category 2, and two in Category 5.
In terms of districts, Kuching accounted for 34 cases, Miri 22 cases while Bintulu and Sibu registered 20 and 17 cases, respectively.
Other districts with new infections were Serian and Samarahan (8 each); Asajaya (7); Limbang (4); Mukah, Simunjan and Daro (3 each); Sri Aman, Pusa and Betong (2 each); while Bau, Lubok Antu, Telang Usan, Dalat, Tebedu, Kanowit and Lawas (1 each).
As of today, Sarawak accumulated a total of 304,754 Covid-19 cases.
With no new Covid-19 clusters reported today, Sarawak is currently free from any active clusters.— Dayakdaily
