KUCHING, Oct 19: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit nine districts in Sarawak until 3pm (Oct 19).
Malaysia Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) in a Facebook post at 12.40pm today, said the affected areas are Kapit, Belaga, Bintulu, Sebauh, Miri, Subis, Beluru, Marudi and Limbang.
The department said that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity of more than 20mm/hour that is close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period of not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
