MIRI, Sept 1: Nine potential candidates of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) that were supposed to participate in the 12th State Election have announced their resignation from the party today.

The nine who have decided to leave PBK are Kenneth Adan Silek (N66 Murum), Ignatius Joseph Bunsuan(N80 Batu Danau), Robert Saweng (N63 Bukit Goram), Leo Bunsu (N49 Ngemah), Sylvester Embuas (N48 Julau/Meluan), Baba Empran (N70 Samalaju), Dr Elli Luhat (N65 Belaga), Lingga Atok (N26 Gedong) and Jeffry Unggat.

In a statement, the group led by Kenneth Adan Silek said the decision was made following an internal fallout within the party’s leadership.

“We decided to leave the party en bloc as we have lost confidence in the leadership of the party,” said Kenneth in a statement.

He added that the Dayak group within PBK was set up with a clear transformational vision and mission to strengthen Dayak representation and the party at large for the coming 12th State Election.

The Dayak group has positioned itself to champion Dayak priorities and to participate in a significant decision making role in the party.

However, the party leadership appears to be keeping the Dayak as “second fiddle” within the party, he opined. — DayakDaily
