81 people from 3 clusters in Kabong, Saratok, Lundu test positive for Covid-19

KUCHING, Aug 10: A total of 81 individuals from three community clusters from Kabong, Saratok and Lundu have tested positive for Covid-19, which has given rise to three new clusters in Sarawak.

According to a report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), some 42 villagers from a village in Kabong have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Sessang Cluster.


The village, which is located at Jalan Krian in Kabong has been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control (EMCO).

There were also 32 people from a longhouse in Saratok who tested positive for Covid-19, forming the Dabai Baruh Cluster.

The longhouse, which is located at Jalan Kabong, Roban, Saratok has been placed under EMCO as well.

Another new Covid-19 cluster was identified in Lundu: the Senibung Cluster.

There were seven people infected with Covid-19 which involved a few family members residing in Kampung Senibung along Jalan Bau-Lundu.

SDMC said all those infected have been admitted to health facilities in Betong and Kuching for treatment. — DayakDaily
