KUCHING, July 21: An 80-year-old man was killed in an accident which also injured another after the four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle he was in plunged into a 10m-deep ravine along Jalan Musah Kajah in Song on Sunday (July 20).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 7.50pm, and firefighters from the Song station were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was noted that the 4WD vehicle, which carried five people, had plunged into the ravine.
The deceased, identified as Berain Sinau, was crushed by the vehicle, while a 43-year-old man was injured and sent by the public to Kanowit Hospital. The other three passengers were unharmed.
Berain’s remains were then handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
