8 villages now relocated due to Lawas flood

KUCHING, December 6: A total of 96 people have been relocated to the temporary relocation center in Lawas due to flood as of 8am today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat head Major Ismail Mahedi from Sarawak Civil Defense Force said that the flood had now affected a total of 19 households in Lawas.

“A total of eight villages was affected by the flood and the victims have been relocated to the temporary relocation center in Trusan Community Hall,” he said in a statement today.


He noted that the additional 30 victims were from Kampung Lintang and Kampung Berjumpa Sundar.

Currently, the temporary relocation center is accommodating 3 infants, 52 children, 8 senior citizens, and 30 adults. —DayakDaily.
