8 rural constituencies to get RM200 mln each under BDDA

KUCHING, May 6: The constituencies of Layar, Bukit Saban, Krian, Beting Maro, Saribas, Kabong, Kalaka and parts of Lingga will receive RM200 million under Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA).

Deputy Sarawak Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also BDDA chairman, said the agency has been allocated with RM1.5 billion in funds by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“We have decided that each constituency in the division gets RM200 million from the amount to finance their own development plans and programmes,” he said during the Saribas Club pre-Gawai Dayak celebration yesterday (May 5).

He added that if each constituency can spend their funds promptly, they can apply for subsequent funding following that. — DayakDaily
